The Invitation

Writer: Pastor GregPastor Greg
“The LORD said to Abram: Go out from your land, your relatives, and your father's house to the land that I will show you.” Genesis 12:1

God offered Abram a promise with eternal consequences, but for Abram to receive the promise, he had to leave his father's home, possessions, comfort, and a promising future of a large inheritance, as well as the rest of his family.

But God had something bigger in mind for Abram than what these earthly treasures could afford.

God was offering Abram an invitation to walk with Him, to know Him better, and to live by faith, which comfort rarely inquires.

God said, “To the land, I will show you.” God didn’t tell Abram where that land was, but Abram knew God well enough that he could trust Him and that the land would be a good land simply because God was giving it to him!

When God calls us to leave our comfort, He always has something more soul-fulfilling than what we left behind.

God is inviting each of us, in one way or another, to leave something ‘good’ behind for something better.

Are you listening to Him?

Are you moving in His direction by faith?

Will you go when He bids you to come?

He’s always trustworthy! Live by faith!
